I am an artist and instructor living in Modesto, CA.

Much of what I do currently involves contextualizing built and/or found objects via photography, creating a particular gestalt of object and environment. I am interested in visual constructions that play upon the ambivalences of recognizable and more abstract form - elements seeming both familiar and foreign - as a ongoing dialog about a range of recurrent concepts; cultural myth, language, and broader issues of representation are prominent among these.

I like the intrinsic mutability of art practice, the phrenetic and circular processes that bleed form out of ideas and ideas out of form. In this way, the concepts involved in my work have wicked to the surface over the course of many years, but art is less a means of distilling concept than developing a visual language to amplify the resonance within and between things, personal and cultural.
